Good news! I received my corner cutter. This tool is fantastic. It works very precisely. I’m pleased with the results. Cutting the corners of my trimmed Radiant Rider-Waite deck with this particular corner cutter was fast and easy. The cutter came with a little surprise in the package! A cute pink origami crane accompanied the cutter on its way to me. How sweet!

Trimming the deck and cutting the corners of the cards was easy. The one thing that really made me hold my breath was edging the cards. I was afraid of ruining the deck by slipping. Luckily, all went well.

I’m still surprised that I choose to buy such a bright colored deck. Usually, I would pick something in darker shades. But the Radiant Rider-Waite deck strangely feels right to me. After trimming and edging, the deck has the right size and feels ready for use. Now it is time for a proper introduction. The next step will be reading again the section about “Connecting to and Carrying for a Tarot Deck” in Benebell Wen’s book Holistic Tarot

I will also do a little interview with the deck. In one of her video lectures, Benebell suggests anthropomorphizing the deck and asking some questions, like:

  • What is your point of view?
  • What is your persona?
  • What are our combined strengths?
  • What do I need to know about you?
  • Through which window may I best connect to your heart and soul?

Did I tell you that I am already friends with the little green lizard in the King of Wands card? He is such a cutey! The lizard was the first detail that caught my eye when going through the deck the first time.

I had some freshwater pearls laying around from when I made the wrap bag and the pouch. I thought I would use them for decorating the pouch’s drawstring, but they were too small, and I had to choose some beads instead. I still felt the pearls belong with the deck. The other day I got the idea to put them on an elastic string, which I will keep with the deck. You can see the pearls in some of the pictures above.
