This journal is sort of a learning diary. I write about things I discover, wonder about, question, or just feel the need to express while tapping more into the intuitive side of life. If you want to comment on some entries, feel free to leave a few lines in the comments section at the bottom of this page. The journal got started on August 10, 2020.
Oh, and I hope you are not frightened by the intimidating-looking creature above. It is a good one. 🐉✨

I am very interested in the origins of astrology – please tell me where to start. Michael

Hi Michael,
Thanks for your comment! The oldest written documents about astrology are from the Old Babylonian period (2000-1600 BCE).
There are two books in English I recommend looking into. The first is 𝘈 𝘏𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘰𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘤𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘤 𝘈𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺: 𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘢𝘣𝘺𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘯 𝘈𝘨𝘦 by James Herschel Holden, American Federation of Astrologers, 2nd edition, 2006. The second book is called 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘈𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘍𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘦 by Chris Brennan, Amor Fati Publications, 2017.
I assume you also speak German. You might want to look into Rafael Gil Brand’s 𝘓𝘦𝘩𝘳𝘣𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘬𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘈𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘪𝘦, Chiron Verlag, 2000. You can also check out the first article I published here on my blog in 2018, which is about the history of astrology: https://livingincycles.blog/2018/05/26/geschichte-der-astrologie/.
These few suggestions should help you get started. I hope you enjoy reading and learning.
Alles Gute! ✨
