Do you think you are in charge of time, or do you feel TIME CONTROLS YOU? The past weeks have been a reminder to me of how time-depended our lives are. I’m not talking about the amount of time we think we have or don’t have, but the ever-changing quality of time and the events moments in time throw at us. Life has its own timing of which we may be aware or not. So, what have the past weeks been like for me? What’s new?
I like planning ahead, making the most out of my time. Being efficient and rational are virtues, right? So I’ve been thinking and keeping that line. But I’m repeatedly brought to the point where I see my plans don’t work out as I wish. Not because they aren’t good and reasonable but because I lack the energy to carry them out. What I’m as much often experience is that once I catch fire, I am all in. I forget eating and sleeping over whatever sparked the flame in me. The difference is that in those cases, I didn’t plan, or the idea has been brewing in my mind for months, sometimes years, apparently ripening and waiting for the right moment to be birthed into the physical world.
I had one such intense experience of feeling a sudden divine spark a few weeks ago. The result is a digital Leo Venus Star Point guidebook.
How I received its layout was exceptional. The book had a very strong opinion about how it wanted to look. Usually, it takes hours for me to decide on colors and images when I work on something. But with the Leo VSP guide, I immediately knew (even before I had written a single word) it wanted to be red and yellow. I also quickly found a background picture and matching fonts. All just fell into place, and although my rational mind told me that the colors weren’t the usual choice, I couldn’t resist the book’s demand for them. It just didn’t want to have any white in it! I even had to overpaint the white cap of an essential oil bottle I used for a photo.
The sudden inspiration to create the Leo Venus Star Point guidebook is one of many similar experiences I’ve had over the years. It bothers me because it confirms my intuition that I can’t just set out on projects my rational mind thinks I should. I have to wait until the time is right for whatever I’m meant to receive, birth, and share. BUT…

Everyday life has its demands. You know, the bread on the table and the roof over your head, etc. So, what to do? Besides reflecting on cultural conditioning and the structures our modern life is built on, these experiences bear the question of how much Self-leadership we have. Where is the line between adapting to the demands of the outer world and betraying our Selves. And are we destined to struggle and fail if we go for whatever it is, based primarily on our sense of rationality? Is the Self rational?
Through my work with the Venus Star Point system, I’m increasingly contemplating the astrological symbolism not only of Venus but also of the Sun as a representation of the ego and the Self. Especially with the approaching of the Sun-ruled Leo Morning Star VSP phase, starting on August 13, I’m sensing the need to go deeper into studying solar significations and the Great Light as a symbol of Spirit and the source of all life in our solar system. I’ve already talked briefly about some of my thoughts regarding the Self in these two short videos (1, 2). The biggest takeaway from my contemplations so far has to do with how our perception of the ego and the Self affects how we use our gifts. There is a difference in how you live your life if you think the Self is evil and you need to get rid of it instead of understanding the Self as a spark of the Divine, equipping you with gifts to be shared with the world.
The five points on the cosmic Pentagram, the conjunctions of Venus and the Sun, seem to function as a sort of gateway for the Divine to manifest and experience itself on the physical plane through human form and all that the quality of time in any given VSP phase can bring about. The head of the five-pointed star in your birth chart reflects the type of creative energy working in and through you. But not only that! Your whole Venus Star also is constantly in touch with the Divine through the movements of the planets around it, which fuel your creativity.
Being human is being creative at its core. We create the moment we awake into a new day (and even in our dreams!). There is a constant drive within us, the need to do something; only this mode is not linear. Each of us lives through unique phases, with times of heightened activity and other times of what we might call regular everyday life. The continuous change in how our generative energy flows is reflected through various astrological techniques.
We must ask ourselves how well our modern way of existing on this planet mixes with our cycles. Is there room for recognizing, adapting, and living according to our natural rhythms? Contemplating how time unfolds uniquely in people’s lives leads to such big questions as ‘What is life, and why are we here’?
I had a wonderful recent conversation about time with my colleague and friend Joli Knott of Bodhi Mindful ( Joli’s IG, FB, and X). We talked about the necessity to regain an understanding of life’s cyclical nature and the need to rediscover our abilities to be receptive to divine inspiration. If we understand that divine timing and providence exist, we begin to trust. I often wonder what life would look like if we understood our unique gifts and rhythms and could live accordingly. Planet Earth would be a much more enjoyable place!
Since I started working with the Venus Star Point system, my understanding of how I create and how my focus and energy levels change has expanded. I now know that silence and alone time are not only essential for me to recharge and function in everyday life but that these are also requirements to keep the flame burning and be creative. How I use my gifts depends on how much I can withdraw.
I’ve come to understand the Venus Star as a tool that helps us to see what kind of creative signature we carry within us and how the life force moves through us. It is also fascinating to see how the Venus Pentagram informs themes we work on collectively. The more people become aware of how life expresses itself through time by working with the Venus Star Points, the easier we are able to make the changes our societies need to build structures that welcome different forms of creative expression, which means various forms of living a fulfilled and meaningful life.
I see the Venus Star’s potential to support our personal and collective development. That’s why I’m passionate about teaching the mysteries of the Venus cycle and the Venus Pentagram. I feel the soon-beginning 9.5 months Leo Venus Star Point phase ruled by the Sun is the most suitable time to study the Self. And so I invite you to an exciting five-week journey of Self-discovery and growth through my interactive online Venus Star Course, starting September 2.
I’m closing this post with a reminder for you and me:
